After graduating from high school in 1975 I began my violin making studies at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music under the supervision of my master Ferenc Lakatos. I passed the master craftsman exam in 1983 and two years later I was hired by Otmar Lang, official luthier of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. After some time I came back to Hungary and worked at the Academy of Music's workshop until its liquidation. In 1993, I opened my own workshop, where I work to this day.

In 2000, the Chamber of Artisans of Budapest selected me as a member of the Examination Committee responsible for overseeing the master craftsman exam. That very same year the Guild of Hungarian Violin Makers awarded me with a "Silver Wreath".

My students, who have since become talented musical instrument makers, colleagues and friends are the following:
-Bernd Etzler, renowned bow maker and "Golden Wreath" master craftsman
-László Német, who has since become my apprentice



Hegedűkészítő tanulmányaimat a Zeneakadémia vonóshangszer-javító műhelyében kezdtem 1975-ben. Mesterem Lakatos Ferenc. 1983-ban mestervizsgáztam, 1985-ben alkalmazást nyertem a Bécsi Filharmonikusok hangszerészénél, Otmar Langnál. Ezt követően ismét a zeneakadémiai műhelyben dolgoztam annak megszűnéséig. 1993-ban önálló műhelyt nyitottam, melyben ma is dolgozom.
Tanítványaim: (többek között) Etzler Bernd (még az akadémiai idők alatt, ma vonókészítő mester), Németh László (jelenleg is munkatársam).
2000-ben a Budapesti Kézműves Kamara mestervizsga-bizottsága tagjává választott és a Magyar Hangszerész Szövetség ezüstkoszorús mester címmel tüntetett ki.
