Adonyi Iván

In 2000, I obtained my Master Diploma as a violin maker in Budapest at the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy Instrument Making School, for which I also received a Certificate of Merit from the Hungarian Association of Musical Instrument Makers. After a few journeyman months at the workshop of Jules Saint-Michel and Tom Wilder in Montreal, I began working with my former master, László Lakatos. In the years that followed I collaborated with several renowned Hungarian violin makers. In 2004 I started working at the Institute for Musicology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest. In 2010, inspired by the small luthier’s workshops in Cremona, Italy, I opened my own workshop in the Újlipótváros district of Budapest. My specialty is custom-made violins and violas following the Brescian and Cremonese traditions. Some of my time is also devoted to restoring and repairing various bowed instruments. I have participated in several exhibitions, including:Esztergom, Hungaryin 2000, London in 2004 and Cremona in 2006.

2000-ben a Magyar Hangszerész Szövetség díszoklevelével szereztem diplomát a Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Egyetem Hangszerészképző Iskolájában. Ezt követően néhány hónapos szakmai kirándulást tettem Montreálba, ahol Szentmihályi Gyula és Tom Wilder műhelyét látogattam. Hazatérve mesteremmel, Lakatos Lászlóval dolgoztam együtt, majd több magyar hegedűkészítő műhelyében is megfordultam. 2004-ben a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia Zenetörténeti Múzeumának munkatársa voltam. 2010-ben a cremonai hegedűkészítő műhelyek mintájára Újlipótvárosban saját boltot nyitottam. Mesterhegedűk és brácsák készítésével, javításával, restaurálásával foglalkozom. Hangszereim elsősorban a cremonai és brescai hegedűkészítő iskolák hagyományát követik. Számos szakmai kiállításon szerepeltem, többek között Esztergomban (2000), Londonban (2004) és Cremonában (2006).
